Hi everyone!
I’ve noticed that car insurance is significantly cheaper when you choose provisional driving licence instead of full one. One can easily understand why – insurer expects you will always be accompanied by an experienced driver.
However gov.uk clearly states that when you pass your test you can start driving right away. You don’t need to wait for your full driving licence (I understand pass certificate will be your confirmation). And that you can postpone getting full licence for up to 2 years.

Formally you still only have provisional licence but can drive alone without an experienced driver.
My questions are
1. Can you continue using the insurance you’ve bought for provisional licence before passing the test? Do you need to tell the insurer anything? Can it increase the price or cancel the contract?
2. Can you buy insurance for provisional licence AFTER passing the test (e. g. if you get the car after passing the test) if you rejected getting full licence automatically and haven’t requested one yourself?
Thank you for the help!
