FTSE CLOSE: Government borrowing falls to lowest level in 18 years; Game Digital profits under pressure; House of Fraser’s flagship store on Oxford Street saved from the chop
Game Digital said today that profits will remain challenged and full-year sales will edge down, despite hailing ‘significant progress’ on its mission to cut costs.
And housebuilder Persimmon has brushed off the housing market-blues with a 13 per cent rise in half-year profits, helped by a ‘competitive mortgage market’.
Meanwhile, House of Fraser’s flagship store on Oxford Street has been saved from closure, following Sports Direct’s acquisition of the collapsed retailer.
