FTSE CLOSE: Pound nudges up while Footsie posts modest gain; Electra gives up on sale; Luton named worst UK airport again
The FTSE 100 closed up 14.27 points at 7577.49 and the pound was at $1.29 against the dollar.
It was a quiet say in the City ahead of the bank holiday weekend with no big corporate updates to pore over.
However, private equity firm Electra has given up on a planned sale of the business, while Air Partner has kicked off a competitive process to appoint new auditors after the private jet firm discovered a £3.3million accounting error earlier this year, courtesy of big four firm Deloitte – the firm in charge when the mistake occurred.
And Luton Airport has been named the worst in the UK for the third year in a row in a passenger satisfaction survey by Which?, while Doncaster Sheffield came out on top.
