I have a direct debit to pay the minimum amount of my Halifax Credit Card just to ensure I never miss a payment, and am now wanting to start making extra payments as and when I’m able to.
I just did a payment and it advised the below:
We will put todays one-off payment towards paying your Direct Debit amount. This means that your next Direct Debit payment will be less or zero depending on how much youve paid today.
Does anyone know of a way around this? If I can pay off an extra £5 or £10 here and there I’d like it to actually pay the debt off rather than minimise my existing direct debit!
Thanks for any help!
