How to claim off insurance from former liquidated company

My house has suffered damage due to poor building work next door.
The builders, who owned the property for 3 years, sold on and the company has liquidated.
The problem became apparent 3 months after the next neighbours moved in.
Our insurance won’t pay up. Neighbours’ insurance won’t pay…
The house was owned by the liquidated company and the ex-director of that co. is not helping.
Is there a way of claiming off the policy which they must have had?
