TV’s Love Island has once again captured the nation’s hearts this summer as millions of viewers watch singletons put theirs on the line.
But it is not just the partner swapping, bed-hopping and public votes on who is going to be dumped from the island that has helped to make the ITV2 show such ratings gold.
The Love Island villa and its attractive grounds – including a swimming pool surrounded by sun loungers and hanging lights – has played a vital supporting part in the addictive storylines.
And while you might be missing the multi-million pound villa needed to fully pull off the look, there are some design features you can pull into your own garden in an attempt to echo the style.

Stacey Sibley, of Alexander James Interiors, said: ‘The Love Island villa’s interior and exterior design style is contemporary, taking a very minimalist look.
‘Bold, bright pops of colour are used on a base of white to add vibrancy and personality, reflective of some of the young, extroverted characters that are living there.
‘There is a very modern Mediterranean feel to the furnishings, perfect for its Spanish holiday setting. Lighting used outdoors creates a strong atmosphere for the night time, perfect for enhancing the romance and re-coupling dramas of an evening on Love Island.’

The Love Island garden – and its striking lighting – is undoubtedly one of the stars of the show.
There have been the dates held at the small white tables and chairs on the lush lawn, cuddles on the poolside sun loungers, and many intense conversations under the hanging lights.
At each of these garden spots at the Mallorcan villa, the show has captured the various relationships unfold – with some being more successful than others.
Marcos Tejedor, of IKEA UK & Ireland, said: ‘For those gripped by Love Island this year, many are left longing for the glamorous surroundings seen in and around the villa, especially with continued sunshine and warm weather.
‘Statement lighting and warm, wooden furniture are top picks for creating the perfect space to host any occasion, from relaxing alfresco dining to fun summer parties.’
What can you do if you are captured by the look and want to recreate it?
We have taken three pieces of garden furniture found at the Love Island villa and found various versions to suit different budgets, whether that’s a top of the range dining chair costing more than £900, a budget sun lounger costing £80 or some hanging lights for £30.
Alexander James Interiors’ Stacey Sibley said: ‘These outdoor lights are perfect for those summer evenings in the garden, creating a mood lighting effect and adding personality and atmosphere. These are great for those who love entertaining into the late evening.’
