Dairy Crest boss Mark Allen’s pay doubled last year.
He took home £2.6million, compared to £1.3million the year before, thanks to long-term incentive shares worth £1.9million.
Allen made a base salary of £560,000 and no other bonus.
He was paid benefits of £33,000. Dairy Crest, which makes Cathedral City cheese as well as Utterly Butterly and Clover, made sales of £456.8million last year, up 10 per cent.
Profits rose 8 per cent to £90.2million.
Allen has faced criticism from unions over his pay in recent years.
