ON THE BOARD: BP chairman Helge Lund, 55, joins the board one month earlier than expected
Oil and gas giant BP’s new chairman Helge Lund has joined the board one month earlier than expected.
The Norwegian takes over from Carl-Henric Svanberg next year and made his name running Norway’s national oil company Statoil. He also held the top job at BG.
He will have to continue BP’s return to growth following the Deepwater Horizon spill of 2010.
BP has also hired ex-General Electric Company executive Pamela Daley, 65, as a non-executive director.
