It’s the Balearic gem that captured the nation’s hearts following the surprise success of television show Love Island last year.
And with its return expected on our screens within weeks, the focus is firmly back on the location where it all began – Majorca.
The island, known locally as Mallorca, is one of Spain‘s Balearic Islands located in the Mediterranean. And while part of it has been much loved by the UK’s package tourists, the rest of the island is also a favourite second home hotspot for well-heeled Britons.

Majorca is home to the villa where some of the TV show’s (now former) couples fell in love, including winners Kem and Amber, along with Olivia and Chris.
The programme is presented by Caroline Flack and it received a Bafta nomination this year.
For those dreaming of buying their own love nest in Majorca – or more likely a holiday home for the family – we have picked six properties for sale that fit a variety of budgets.

The average amount that Majorca buyers spend is €415,000 – the equivalent of around £385,000 – according to Marc Pritchard, sales and marketing director at Taylor Wimpey Spain.
He said: ‘There are many reasons why Mallorca has a unique and romantic feel.
The Mallorquin people are passionate and I have no doubt that the island will steal your heart
‘The coastline is truly stunning with an amazing 200 beaches, many of which boast Blue Flags, all over the island.
‘It is also an absolute paradise for nature lovers, with my favourite being the Tramuntana mountains.
‘Nothing beats taking my motorbike up through the winding mountain roads to enjoy the most breath-taking views and see the local wildlife at the weekend.’
He added: ‘Mallorca is an island full of life.
‘The capital Palma plays host to half of the island’s population offering style, sophistication and a buzzing nightlife.
‘The Mallorquin people are passionate and I have no doubt that the island will steal your heart just as its stolen mine.’
